It was announced that former Arsenal striker Ian Wright was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. He joins Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Patrick Vieira as the fourth Arsenal player to receive the honor.

Wright originally joined Arsenal in 1991 after the Gunners bought him for a club-record fee (at the time) of £2.5m from Crystal Palace. He led the Gunners to six seasons as their top goal scorer and, in 1997, became the Club's all-time scorer at 179 goals. Only Henry has since topped that goal-scoring record.

"Growing up in South London, football was my escape. We played for pure enjoyment and that's something that never left me when I played the game. I always felt like I was running out of time and this recognition is a special reminder to appreciate the journey, the hard work and getting over the doubts I had," said Wright about the Hall of Fame induction (arsenal.com).

As a reward for being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Wright will receive an engraved medallion with his name and the year he was inducted, along with a £10,000 donation to a charity of Wright's choice from the Premier League.
