Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is closing in on a permanent transfer to South London club Crystal Palace.

Multiple reports indicate that the Eagles are seeking to offer £25m with £5m worth of add-ons to the Gunners. There’s been growing indications that a permanent move for the striker seemed all but certain, despite deals from both Olympique Marseille and Nottingham Forest collapsing in the final stages.

Nketiah began his professional club career with the Gunners, making his first senior appearance for the club in 2017. Last season the 25-year-old scored 6 goals in all competitions in 37 appearances, including a hat trick against Sheffield United in the Premier League.

He’s been an unused sub in two matches to start the 2024-25 domestic campaign, with his contract running until 2027.

Crystal Palace seek additional attacking pieces, after falling to West Ham United 2-0 at home over the weekend, and losing to Brentford 2-1 to start the season. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has already publicly spoken about his desire to reinforce more talent to the South London club, after striker Jordan Ayew joined Leicester City.

Reports indicate that personal terms should not be an issue, after it became a concern with Nottingham Forest’s deal. The deadline for the summer transfer window for Premier League teams is on Friday, August 30.
