Arsenal sign Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlicht for £15million plus add-ons

Albert Sambi Lokonga signed for Arsenal from Belgian club Anderlicht. Multiple reports indicate that he inked a four-year deal with an option to extend his contract by another season. The 21-year-old midfielder established himself under manager Vincent Kompany, featuring 37 times in the 2020/2021 season scoring three goals and bagging three assists.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, told arsenal.com “Albert is a very intelligent player who has shown great maturity in his performances during his development. We’re confident Albert’s ready for the next stage in his development and we’re looking forward to welcoming a new member to our squad with his quality and presence.”

Lokonga is the second signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window, with Nuno Tavares signing from Portuguese club Benfica earlier in July.

Arteta and Technical Director, Edu Gaspar are keen on focusing on more signings in the midfield ahead of their season opener against Brentford on Aug.13
