Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is inching closer to a move to Arsenal. It’s reported by Bruno Andrade, goal.com reporter Thiago Fernandes, and Brasil Global Tour’s Raisa Simplicio that Jesus’s transfer is inching towards a final fee between the two clubs. The reported fee has narrowed down between £35m and £42m for Jesus.

The first rumor of Jesus heading to Arsenal was last month, but the deal could be expedited after Manchester City announced the signing of striker Erling Haaland. Jesus only has a year remaining on his Manchester City contract, and there are no indications that he’s looking to renew it. Jesus’s agent, Marcelo Pettinati, told reporter Fabrizio Romano, “We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project - it’s a possibility we’re discussing…There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel - he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see.”
Arsenal heads to Tottenham tomorrow, and if they’re able to secure a win, they’ll officially secure Champions League qualification for the first time in seven years. Thanks to a resurgence in form from Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, it’s provided the Gunners a chance to sign players like Gabriel Jesus. In his press conference on the Jesus rumors, manager Mikel Arteta said, “You know that I don’t talk about any players that are not with us,” (Chris Wheatley).
Arsenal is looking to add a minimum of one striker in this upcoming transfer window as Alexandre Lacazette, and Nketiah both have expiring contracts at the end of June. Since Jesus joined Manchester City, he’s averaged a goal or assist every 100 minutes in Premier League play. Depending on how Arsenal finishes the season, this transfer could be swiftly handled between both clubs, but developments will emerge within the last few days. Arsenal is also looking to bring in another central midfielder, left-back, and striker.
